Punggol Shoot 6.3.10 SAT

time: 3pm meet
venue: Punggol MRT

hey guys! i did some re-research and got the archived map i gave melinda last year :) im excited to go to the lalang field since some forums said march is lalang season! haha, actually the best time was apparantly after a fire o.O but since we cant burn down punggol before hand, we'll have to make do :)

im reminding all Yr 5 / interest group peeps to please sign up soon! :) punggol looks like got alot of people...

cameras will also have to go around, so people, snatch cameras! HAHA.

what we will do:
i was thinking of concentrating on lalang fields then proceed down to the beach.

PULAU UBIN TRIP

Hi people!
Below is the information for the Pulau Ubin trip! Please do sign up for it cos i think its gna be fun!(:

Date: 13 march 2010 (saturday) ---> first day of march holidays~

Time: abt 8am

Meeting Venue: Changi Ferry Terminal (Tentative)
---> How to get there?: Take MRT to tampines interchange, and take bus 29 to changi village

We are taking a boat ride to pulau ubin! the boat ride is $2.50 per person and $2 per bicycle. You can also rent a bike on the island itself (we're probably gna do that)

1. Water Through My Lens - A Photography Competition to celebrate World Water Day 2010

Let us discover your thoughts and how you feel about our waters through your lens.

In celebration of the World Water Day, PUB—the national water agency, in partnership with the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Council will be organising a photography competition titled “Water Through My Lens”.

Water Through My Lens photography competition is divided into three categories and the winners of this competition stand to win fabulous prizes. Winning pictures will be published on PUB’s website, in PURE magazine and displayed at the Marina Barrage. Please submit your entries in a CD to the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Council, 5 Magazine Road, #03-02, Central Mall, Singapore 059571 by Monday, 8 March 2010 before 5pm.

SMW 2010 Photography Competition & Exhibition

In celebration of all things maritime during Singapore Maritime Week, we are looking for special photographs from budding and professional talents who can capture unique and striking images of maritime moments in Singapore. From land, sea, people to architecture, interpret Maritime Moments as you see and experience them. The top six Open and Youth (age 25 and below) category winners will each walk away with cash prizes.

All shortlisted photos will be exhibited at the first ever Singapore Maritime Week Photography Exhibition at VivoCity from 21 - 25 April 2010.

Outdoor shoots (term 1)

- Pulau Ubin Outdoor Shoot: 20.2.10 SAT postponed till further notice!
i think this will be a whole day event (morning? can someone volunteer to organise it because i have no idea how to get there... @_@..)
can we reach there by 9am latest? we're missing precious light! D:

yr 6: since requirement is to go for at least one outdoor shoot per sem, people do go for at least one of the shoot :D
i will open up signing up once i get timing response regarding pulau ubin and railway. do respond with which timing is best for you.


Yr 5: this is not compulsory activity, but you are welcomed to come!


interest group:welcomed to just tag along, however do note i dun think we will have enough cameras so, bring your own?


teachers: welcome to put your name there too!
all will collect camera from mr hong prior! first come first serve basis.

i ( ying zhi) will only be able to make it for punggol shoot, so will only be in charge of that!


sign up closes on 18 february (2 day before pulau ubin shoot) so please, commit to your timing!
if you dont sign up in time, u will have to sign up in term 2 and since you need at leassssstt 1 photoshoot per semester.. sign up!

- Pulau Ubin Outdoor Shoot: 20.2.10 SAT POSTPONED

Em, we're gonna have a poll to see majority can make it at what time.

wk8: we will learn how to clean cameras! we know how to use them, and even abuse our poor babies, so lets learn how to pamper and clean them :) meet at 2.30 @ level 3 classroom Dblock ( outside staff rm there)
wk9: photo sharing for pulau ubin shoot, assuming they do go?... no outdoor shoot since Yr6 is uber bz with tests this week. jiayou Yr6!!
wk10: we will cover a sports meet that is held in school. sorta a cross between event coverage and outdoor shoot. hehe :D
march holidays: since we are unable to settle the studio shoot as the instructor is not free, he suggested having it during march holidays, we will split the "class" into 2 and have a morn/aft session.
